Enjoy the Journey.

  Enjoy the journey... There is a technical side of photography that allows a photographer to become a master of light and shadow and fuss over every aspect of the image they are trying to create but that, is not the chapter where we are going to start. So you've decided to take the first step and opened the box of your brand new camera. Congratulations! Weather your diving into photography as a hobby or looking to become a professional it's important not to forget to enjoy the journey along the way. I recently planned a day trip to spend time taking pictures of the bold Autumn colours of trees in a local forest. It was a cool sunny day with the sun low in the morning sky and bright beams of sunshine shining through the trees as I walked the path sipping coffee in a travel mug. The leaves were around 80-90% of being at their peak colours before falling to the ground until next year so this was as good as it was going to get. A Moment In Time.

Hello and welcome... When starting out in the world of photography many ask themselves the question what kind of equipment do I need? Remember many photographers started in the early days of photography with very little and very basic equipment but some of their images captured on just a square glass plate and a silver mixture coating are still on display over a hundred years later. Lets face it. A great photo will always be, well, a great photo no matter how it was taken. Early cameras had no shutter and relied on the photographer to take off the lens cap and count out the exposure time then replace the cap only having to wait until they developed the image in a darkroom to see if they had been successful in creating the image they were hoping for. So do you need a top of the line equipment? Not at all. There was an interesting lesson in photography where a few professionals were given regular film cameras instead of digital cameras to see what they could come up with. The result was
